Children & Teen Therapy

Support for Children, Adolescents, and Families

Children and teenagers often experience emotional distress differently than adults. Anxiety, overwhelm, behavioral changes, withdrawal, irritability, academic stress, and relational difficulties can sometimes reflect deeper emotional experiences that may be difficult to express directly.

At Therapists in Practice (TIP), we provide thoughtful, trauma-informed therapy for children and adolescents navigating emotional, behavioral, social, and developmental challenges.

Our clinicians work collaboratively with both young clients and caregivers to create a supportive space where children and teens can build emotional awareness, coping skills, confidence, and healthier ways of navigating relationships and stress.

We provide virtual therapy in Texas for children, adolescents, and families seeking grounded and compassionate mental health support.

What We Help With

Children and teen therapy may support concerns related to:

  • anxiety and chronic stress

  • emotional regulation difficulties

  • school-related stress and academic pressure

  • behavioral challenges

  • social difficulties and peer relationships

  • family transitions or conflict

  • trauma and overwhelming experiences

  • self-esteem and identity development

  • sadness, withdrawal, or mood changes

  • perfectionism and high-pressure environments

Our therapists work from a developmentally informed and relational approach tailored to the unique needs of each child, teen, and family.

How to Get Started

Starting therapy should feel approachable and supportive.

Step 1: Request an Appointment
Share a few details about your child or teen’s current needs, concerns, and scheduling preferences so our team can better understand how to support your family.

Step 2: Therapist Matching
We thoughtfully connect your family with a clinician whose experience, approach, and availability align with your child or teen’s needs.

Step 3: Begin Therapy
Once matched, your therapist will reach out with the next steps, scheduling information, and intake paperwork so care can begin smoothly and confidently.

We currently offer in-person and online counseling in Oklahoma and Texas.
